Authorised Economic Operator - AEO
An AEO is an economic operator who, by virtue of satisfying certain criteria, is recognized by the customs authorities to be reliable in their customs related operations throughout the European Community. As such, the economic operator is entitled to benefit from certain advantages which include easier access to customs authorizations and permits or facilitation of the customs controls.
