The new procedure for cancellation of the VAT registration was published in Official Gazette no. 060 on Wednesday, 25 January 2012. The tax authorities are required to process taxpayers’ requests by the end of the same month as the application for cancellation of registration are filed. Taxpayers will qualify as taxpayers for VAT purposes until the date the decision of cancellation of VAT registration is issued.
