The 2012 State Budget law and the Social Security Contributions law were published on 22 December 2011.
The average gross monthly salary used as reference for the social security budget has increased to RON 2,117 for 2012 (from RON 2,022 for 2011).
The rates for health insurance contributions remain the same as in 2011.
The rates for contributions to the social security fund, unemployment fund, work accidents and occupational diseases insurance, and for the salary guarantee fund will be those provided by the Fiscal Code (also unchanged from the 2011 levels).
The amount re-directed to private pension funds has increased from 3% in 2011 to 3.5% in 2012 of the total rate of the individual social security contributions.
