The Romanian Ecologist Party (PER) requires amendments to the calculation method of the car pollution tax by adapting best practices implemented in other European countries. In the party’s view, the current proposed fee is not based on the “polluter pays” principle, being only a tax on transactions. The party is currently collaborating with industry associations on a bill to change the application norms of the car tax.
